PLAY Project Two-Day Intensive Workshop
Richard Solomon, MD, founder of The PLAY Project, believes every young child with autism should have access to life-changing early intervention, by empowering their parents or caregivers. The PLAY Project strives to create a world where all children with autism receive early intervention services and parents choose the best treatment options for their child.
This professional development opportunity will provide you with an overview of the PLAY Project methods and principles along with case studies to gain immediate skills in helping children with autism. The workshop consists of case studies, video analysis of parent and child interaction, and group activities that develop your skills in play-based, developmental and behavioral techniques for engaging children with autism and other developmental delays.
Who will benefit:
Our intensive workshop will be of interest to administrators and policy makers involved with autism services, parents of children with autism, and providers who serve these children.This workshop can serve as a first step in pursuing the Certified PLAY Project Consultant credential.
After this workshop participants will be able to:
- Explain the 7 Circles of PLAY and how they relate to the PLAY Autism Intervention Program when working with children with ASD
- Define intensive autism intervention, including interventions that are categorized as play-based, developmental, and behavioral
- Identify techniques that help improve language, social skills, behavior, development, and play skills of children with autism
- Describe Greenspan’s 6 Functional Developmental Levels (FDLs) and how they relate to The PLAY Project Autism Intervention
- Identify the behaviors and symptoms of children who have sensory processing challenges
- Describe how a child’s unique profile is created and develop a plan to improve the child’s social interactions based on this profile
- Identify developmental progress and PLAY Project methods and techniques through the review of video case studies
- *Learning outcomes will be assessed after the Intensive Workshop by a PLAY Project Quiz and Satisfaction Survey

This program is Approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886816974-1396) for 12 continuing education contact hours.
Certificates of attendance for the Two-Day Intensive workshop will be issued to participants who attend the full 2 days of the workshop and complete all post course requirements, including a survey and quiz, 1-2 weeks after the workshop.

Cancellation Policy
We are unable to offer a refund if a trainee cancels less than a week before the event start date but another registrant could be substituted in their place. The PLAY Project can cancel an event up to two weeks before the start date. In this situation all registrants will be notified via email and refunded their money to their original form of payment.
If an attendees cancels before the deadline, they will receive a full refund or credit to a future training session. If they cancel without notice with less than a 2 week notice, COVID-19 not being a factor, the attendee will not receive a refund but can credit their account to a future training session.
The Eventbrite fee cannot be returned to buyer when a refund request is processed. The Eventbrite fee consists of the payment processing fee and the service fee combined.
The Eventbrite fee can be returned to buyers in cases where PLAY cancels the event or the buyer unintentionally purchased duplicate tickets and requests a refund within 7 days of purchase.
