Through playful, engaging case study analysis, Dr. Rick teaches how to accurately profile a child’s development and unlock the KEY strategies to help a child make developmental progress and have fun!

 

Helping children on the autism spectrum by diving deeper into their unique developmental profile. Our Advanced Course builds on The PLAY Project’s introductory and intensive workshops.  It gives an in-depth and detailed way for parents and professionals to become skilled at profiling the child’s development using The PLAY Project’s systematic approach. This ability to profile a child’s development with precision is at the core of our entire model.  This course is the second step in pursuing the Certified PLAY Project and Teaching PLAY Consultant credential.

and Functional Developmental Levels & Capacities

-List and describe in detail at least 3 key PLAY Project methods or techniques that caregivers can use

to help the child make progress toward their full potential

-Create an official written ‘PLAY Project Child Profile Form’

Content Disclosure: This training will focus exclusively on The PLAY Project Models of Early Intervention

and Parent Coaching and will not include information on other similar or related models of early intervention

or parent coaching.

of children with autism, administrators and policy makers involved with autism services.

Approximately 5 hours + 1 hour Live Session

The Advanced Course has approximately 5 hours of content to be completed asynchronously and has one live session (1 hr)

to answer your questions in person. Instead of having to attend one full day of training, missing work, and/or planning

for childcare, learners can take the course when it is convenient for them over a two-week time span!

 

Requirements for Satisfactory Course Completion:

Participants will be required to:

-Complete all online modules/levels of the course 

-Attend the course live session. Attendance is tracked automatically by Zoom

-Complete the course self-assessment. This is ungraded and a self-assessment of the content learned.

-Submit the course evaluation survey linked within the course

The above items must be completed by 9am EST | 3/19/26. Partial credit is not available.

 

Continuing Education:

The PLAY Project Advanced Course is approved for ASHA CEUs, AOTA CEUs and Illinois Early Intervention Credits.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cancellation policy: The PLAY Project is unable to provide a refund for cancellations made less than one week before the event start date.

However, another registrant may be substituted in place.

The PLAY Project reserves the right to cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs, all registrants will be notified by email

and will receive a full refund to their original form of payment.

Accommodations Requests: The PLAY Project will accommodate reasonable requests if possible. Accommodations can be requested on the

registration form and via emailing events@playproject.org. To ensure timely support, we encourage individuals to submit accommodations

requests as early as possible, no later than 2 weeks prior to the course start date. Requests made after this date cannot be guaranteed.

The course opens March 4, 2026 and closes promptly at 9am Eastern Time on  March 19th, 2026.

Participants can work at their own pace during this two‑week window. There is one live session during the course.

 

Expect approximately 5 hours of asynchronous content plus the 1‑hour live session.

Yes. All modules can be completed on your own schedule during the open dates.

The live session takes place in real time.

Yes. You must have completed one of the following:

  • PLAY Project Intensive Workshop (2‑day live or livestream)
  • PLAY Intensive Workshop Online
  • PLAY Intensive Course (for Professionals or Parents)

This course is presented in pre-recorded modules including video and slide presentations,

direct lecture, interactive quizzes, games, and case study analysis.

During the live session portion of the course there is opportunity for Q&A, conversation and interaction.

During the live session, we highly encourage participants to have their cameras on .

They must also be ready to unmute themselves so they can interact and discuss live. 

Participants are free to utilize the chat tool as well for questions and comments.

 

Yes. A certificate of completion will be provided within 14 business days of the course close date for attendees 

that meet all completion requirements.
