SUMMARY:Webinar | Celebrating Neurodiversity: Joyous Ways to Thrive During the Holidays
DESCRIPTION:Webinar | Celebrating Neurodiversity: Joyous Ways to Thrive During the Holidays \nHo\, ho\, ho. Oh No! I know it sounds ‘Scrooge-like’ to say\, but if you want the holidays to be fun and wonderful and easy\, don’t expect the holidays to be fun and wonderful and easy! Neurodivergent children are neurologically wired to “keep the world the same\,” so the holiday season with all of its changes and transitions can be a challenge for the children and their families. When you realize what our children must deal with during the holidays—change of schedules (no school!); change of daily routines; change of locations (going to Grandma’s for Thanksgiving or a friend’s for Christmas); loss of favorite activities; noisy parties with lots of new people; lots of excitement (new toys for Christmas!); and\, worst of all\, long car rides—it’s no wonder why they behave poorly and why so many parents of children with autism dread the holidays! In this webinar\, ‘Dr. Rick’ Solomon\, a developmental and behavioral pediatrician\, with over 25 years’ experience\, will use humor and case studies to demonstrate several joyous ways to help parents deal with common holiday challenges so their children will have fun and thrive during the holidays. \nIn this webinar participants will learn: \n\n5 Rules for holiday fun\nHow to ‘plan for the worst’\nDr. Rick’s 20 Transition Tricks to help your child get through most transitions\nHow to arrange the holiday environments by keeping the ‘micro-environment’ (the inside world) familiar and rewarding even when the ‘macro-environment (the outside world) is chaotic\, noisy\, and/or confusing.\nThe ‘Good\, Bad\, and Ugly’ positive parenting approach to help children behave even during the holidays\n\nContact info@playproject.org for more information. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Register Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nZoom Session\nDecember 13th\, 2023 | 12pm – 1pm ET\n_____
