SUMMARY:The PLAY Project's Two-Day Livestream Intensive Workshop
DESCRIPTION:  \n\nCost $395 for Professionals | $125 for Families\nThe PLAY Project strives to create a world where all children with autism receive early intervention services and parents choose the best treatment options for their child. \nThis professional development opportunity will provide you with an overview of the PLAY Project methods and principles to gain immediate skills in helping children with autism. The workshop consists of case study video analyses of parent and child interaction that develop your skills in play-based\, developmental and behavioral techniques for engaging children with autism and other developmental delays. \n\n\n\nRegister Here!\n \n\n\n\nWho will benefit:\nEarly intervention and/or child development professionals (SLP\, OT\, M.Ed.\, MSW)\, behavioral health providers\, parents of children with autism\, administrators and policy makers involved with autism services. \nCEUs\nCEUs available for SLPs and OTs (U.S. only) through ASHA\, Illinois Early Intervention\, and AOTA. This workshop can serve as a first step in pursuing the Certified PLAY Project Consultant credential. \nCourse time:\nApproximately 12 hours \n1.2 ASHA CEUs \n1.2 AOTA CEUs/Contact Hours \n \nAfter this workshop participants will be able to:\n– Explain the 7 Circles of PLAY and how they relate to the PLAY Autism Intervention Program when working with children with ASD\n– Define intensive autism intervention\, including interventions that are categorized as play-based\, developmental\, and behavioral\n– Identify techniques that help improve language\, social skills\, behavior\, development\, and play skills of children with autism\n– Describe Greenspan’s 6 Functional Developmental Levels (FDLs) and how they relate to The PLAY Project Autism Intervention\n– Identify the behaviors and symptoms of children who have sensory processing challenges\n– Describe how a child’s unique profile is created and develop a plan to improve the child’s social interactions based on this profile\n– Identify developmental progress and PLAY Project methods & techniques through the review of video case studies \nParticipants watch evidence based strategies\, through case study videos\, that promote engagement.\nParticipants practice developing a child profile\, after watching a case study video.
