SUMMARY:The PLAY Project's Two-Day Livestream Intensive Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Special Event! \n\nCost $395 now $295 for Professionals (with CEUs)| $125 for Families\nIn this special training event\, Dr. Rick Solomon MD (“The fun doctor”) will teach the 2 day workshop live streamed over zoom. Dr. Rick\, with his expertise\, playful sense of humor and heartfelt concern for children and families\, will share his 25 years of practical clinical experience and present up-to-date research evidence for developmental\, relationship-based and playful interventions for children with autism and their families. Don’t miss this rare opportunity! \nThis 2 day live streamed workshop\, for  professionals and parents\, will provide a deep dive into PLAY Project methods\, principles\, techniques and activities. Participants will gain immediate skills in helping children with autism. The workshop consists of case study video analyses of parent and child interaction that will develop your skills in play-based\, developmental and behavioral techniques for engaging children with autism and other developmental delays.  \n \n\nRegister Here!\n \n\n\n\nWho will benefit:\nEarly intervention and/or child development professionals (SLP\, OT\, M.Ed.\, MSW)\, behavioral health providers\, parents of children with autism\, administrators and policy makers involved with autism services. \nCEUs\nCEUs available for SLPs and OTs (U.S. only) through ASHA\, Illinois Early Intervention\, and AOTA. This workshop can serve as a first step in pursuing the Certified PLAY Project Consultant credential. \nCourse time:\nApproximately 12 hours \n1.2 ASHA CEUs \n1.2 AOTA CEUs/Contact Hours \n \n  \nAfter this workshop participants will be able to:\n– Explain the 7 Circles of PLAY and how they relate to the PLAY Autism Intervention Program when working with children with ASD\n– Define intensive autism intervention\, including interventions that are categorized as play-based\, developmental\, and behavioral\n– Identify techniques that help improve language\, social skills\, behavior\, development\, and play skills of children with autism\n– Describe Greenspan’s 6 Functional Developmental Levels (FDLs) and how they relate to The PLAY Project Autism Intervention\n– Identify the behaviors and symptoms of children who have sensory processing challenges\n– Describe how a child’s unique profile is created and develop a plan to improve the child’s social interactions based on this profile\n– Identify developmental progress and PLAY Project methods & techniques through the review of video case studies \nParticipants watch evidence based strategies\, through case study videos\, that promote engagement.\nParticipants practice developing a child profile\, after watching a case study video.
