The P.L.A.Y. Project would like to mention a very special person who has been instrumental in advocating for and bringing P.L.A.Y. to Ohio, where we have trained over 100 Home Consultants to date and plan to train more this year.
Margaret Conrad, who retired from her position as Director of Four Oaks Early Childhood Programs in Greene County, Ohio in December 2012, was one of the original supporters of The P.L.A.Y. Project. Margaret’s belief in and passion for P.L.A.Y. inspired her to advocate to the County Board and to ultimately send 5 Early Intervention professionals to one of the very first P.L.A.Y. Project Trainings in 2005. Margaret continued to advocate for her staff to be trained in The P.L.A.Y. Project, and as a result of her support and persistence, Greene County has sent 13 people through the 4-Day Agency Training.
According to P.L.A.Y. Professional Diana Holderman, Margaret “has been an awesome advocate and support to us all as we went through our certification. Her leadership and perseverance has absolutely been a key part of the service development in our area. Margaret planted many seeds and they are still growing in Greene! She has touched the lives of MANY, and for that we want to thank her and let her know how much she is truly appreciated!”
Thank you for your support through the years, Margaret – we greatly appreciate your efforts in Early Intervention and wish you all the best in your retirement!
