The PLAY Project 2-Day Professional Conference

Friday, May 17 & Saturday, May 18
in Ann Arbor, MI

Conference description:

Join us for the first 2 days of our agency training to go beyond an introduction to PLAY. The conference includes in-depth analysis of PLAY and DIR methods, using video case studies, small group discussion, and expert assessment by Dr. Solomon and team. This training is for professionals, and has limited enrollment.

Unlike the 4-day training, which is meant for professionals interested in becoming PLAY Home Consultants, the 2-day professional conference is for professionals who want to learn developmental, play-based approaches in order to incorporate them into their current professional practice.

Learning Objectives:

This conference can be used to introduce participants to or deepen more experienced participants’ knowledge of The PLAY Project and Greenspan’s DIR model. After this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Articulate the theory of Floortime/DIR and differentiate developmental interventions from behavioral interventions
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the P.L.A.Y. Project Model including the principles, methods, and techniques
  • Describe the basic skills within each of Greenspan’s 6 Functional Developmental Levels (FDLs)
  • Identify basic behaviors and symptoms of children with sensory processing issues
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze video case studies using the P.L.A.Y. Project’s Skill Sequence with moderate guidance
  • Identify basic solutions to issues regarding family dynamics, professional boundaries, and child’s diagnosis
  • Explain the role of the P.L.A.Y. Project Home Consultant and determine possible settings for delivery of the P.L.A.Y. Project model
