1. It’s empowering! P.L.A.Y. Project 4-day trainings empower professionals to confidently use play as their primary way of interacting with young children with ASD. Through the training and supervision process, professionals learn how to effectively engage children while honoring the child’s intentions and needs. This approach also allows professionals to address a child’s social and emotional development through a strategic process of video anaylsis, evaluation, and parent education.
“I think you all were AMAZING. I was very nervous coming in, but I’m leaving with a wealth of knowledge and support. I feel excited and confident that The P.L.A.Y. Project is going to change my families’ lives. The training was beyond my expectations. Each speaker was great and kept it interesting throughout. Unbelievable!” – Kelley Burkhart, OH
2. It’s organized and practical! Our trainings are conducted with the adult learner in mind. We offer a training that is structured yet tailored to the needs of each audience. Whether you are a Speech and Language Pathologist or a Physician, we are confident that our trainings will apply to your practice.
“The organized and articulate presentation was refreshing. I’ve been working and supervising for years, but this was great, defining, and tangible – it made me think about and reevaluate my own approach”. – Noga Regev, Israel
3. It gives you permission to play! Effective clinical practice can also be fun and this model encourages it! Play,after-all, is a child’s primary occupation, so this approach just makes sense!
“The program is fantastic and gets back to the basics and fundamentals of helping all children including those with different learning abilities to grow to their full potential using the lost art of play.” – Sharron Burrell, PA
4. It’s Evidence-Based! The P.L.A.Y. Project is evidence-based! Our recent 3-year, NIMH-funded study (a randomized controlled clinical trial) is due to be published by early 2014!
“So excited to know about The P.L.A.Y. Project and to have a research-based, proven approach that is developmental and based on relationship-building between children and their parents and families. The P.L.A.Y. Project is an important step forward in the treatment of autism. Dr. Solomon is a gifted physician, researcher, and teacher. His is also a wonderful human being who truly cares about children and their families and brings to his work a compassionate heart. I have been inspired by the training I received from him!” – Lisa Moreno, TX
