SUMMARY:PLAY Project Intensive Workshop
DESCRIPTION:PLAY Project Intensive Workshop\nRichard Solomon\, MD\, founder of The PLAY Project\, believes every young child with autism should have access to life-changing early intervention\, by empowering their parents or caregivers.  The PLAY Project strives to create a world where all children with autism receive early intervention services and parents choose the best treatment options for their child. \nThis professional development opportunity will provide you with an overview of the PLAY Project methods and principles along with case studies to gain immediate skills in helping children with autism. The workshop consists of case studies\, video analysis of parent and child interaction\, and group activities that develop your skills in play-based\, developmental and behavioral techniques for engaging children with autism and other developmental delays. \n\n\n\n\nRegistration and Pricing\n\n\n\nWho will benefit:\nOur intensive workshop will be of interest to administrators and policy makers involved with autism services\, parents of children with autism\, and providers who serve these children. This workshop can serve as a first step in pursuing the Certified PLAY Project and Teaching PLAY Consultant credential. \nAfter this workshop participants will be able to:\n– Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the PLAY Project\, PLAY Autism Intervention\, 7 circles of PLAY and can begin helping children with autism and their caregivers immediately!\n– Implement methods that help children with autism to (1) increase their social interaction and (2) develop a joyous relationship with their caregivers and other adults!\n– Identify techniques that help improve language\, social skills\, behavior\, development\, and play skills of children with autism!\n– Describe how a child’s unique profile is created and develop a plan to improve the child’s social interaction based on the profile!\n– and much\, much more! \nContinued Education: \nCEUs have been requested pending approval through: \n– American Speech-Language- Hearing Association\n– Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative\n– American Occupational Therapy Association \nCertificates of attendance for the Two-Day Intensive workshop will be issued to all participants at the completion of the course. \nHotel and Travel Information\nThe PLAY Project has reserved a limited number of rooms under a special rate of $189 for March 23rd- 25th 2018 at the Courtyard Plantation Hotel located at 7780 SW 6th Street\, Plantion\, FL 33324-3342. Dr. Rosin has presented nationally and internationally on topics related to evidence-based practices in assessment and intervention for individuals with ASD. She is the owner and director of Palm Beach Speech-Language Specialists in Palm Beach Gardens\, FL.; adjunct professors at Nova Southeastern University\, University of Vermont\, and Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. Dr. Rosin is the director of the Caribbean Autism Project – an international autism program with the Ministry of Education and Health at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts. She currently serves on the board of the Florida Speech-Language Hearing Association (FLASHA) as the chair of the tele-practice committee and the VP for Continuing Education. Dr. Rosin is the winner of the 2016 FLASHA Clinician of the Year Award and the 2017 Louis M. DiCarlo Award for Recent Clinical Achievement from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
