About this Level:
Level 3 prepares trainees to implement The PLAY Project with fidelity in real-world settings. Trainees develop advanced coaching skills, learn to document and analyze child profiles and adult-child interactions, and receive individualized supervision to support high-quality implementation.
Level 3 consists of two components:
1. 4-week online Implementation Course
2. Online structured Supervision
Learning Objectives:
- Implement The PLAY Project model with fidelity across home, clinical, and educational settings
- Apply PLAY’s systematic framework to assess and understand each child’s unique developmental profile
- Coach caregivers using concrete, practical strategies to increase intervention intensity and improve interaction, social engagement, and functional development
- Identify and problem-solve common barriers to successful intervention and caregiver implementation
- Use video review and written feedback effectively to support caregiver learning and skill development
- Navigate and utilize PLAY Project tools, resources, and materials to enhance intervention outcomes for families
Who will benefit:
Level 3 is recommended for pediatric and child development professionals who want to learn how to effectively coach families who have a young child (14 months to 6 years) with an autism spectrum disorder or children with differences in communication and relating. This level is also recommended for teachers, educators, and school staff.
Course time:
Approximately 2-3 hours per week & weekly 1 hour live sessions
Prerequisite requirements: Level 1 – Foundations of PLAY & Level 2 – Mastering the Child Profile. After this level, participants will be certified PLAY Project Consultants.

FAQ’s
Level 3 consists of two components:
1. 4-week online Implementation Course (2-3 hours of content per week plus weekly live sessions and assignments). Trainees may begin implementing PLAY with families after completing this course.
2. Online structured Supervision (12 Supervision tasks, typically completed within 10-18 months)
The Implementation Course is self-paced, but we encourage participants to stay on track with their course syllabus in order to submit assignments on time, participate in live session discussions, and complete the course within the 4 week period. Supervision is also self-paced, however we do offer suggested timelines for task completion.
Yes. You must have completed Level 1 – Foundations of PLAY & Level 2 – Mastering the Child Profile before you can take this level.
The Implementation Course is presented in pre-recorded modules including video and slide presentations, interactive quizzes, assignments and case study analysis. This level also includes 4 weekly 1-hour live sessions with our Training Director or Master Trainer.
Online Supervision requires 12 supervision tasks including Online Case Submissions, Individual Mentoring Sessions, and Group Case Presentations. Each task will offer support and guidance from our PLAY Supervisors.
Yes, a certificate of completion will be available for download once the Implementation Course has been completed.
After successfully completing all 12 supervision tasks, you will receive your official PLAY or Teaching PLAY Consultant Certificate. This certification confirms that you are fully qualified to provide PLAY and/or Teaching PLAY services.
We license all organizations that provide the PLAY Project to ensure that children and families receive consistently high quality services. Licensing starts during Level 3 and there is a small yearly fee.
