A school observation is an effective way to analyze behaviors and social interactions that may be resulting in difficulty completing academic work or interfering with the formation of meaningful relationships while attending school.
Dr. Bowers will spend two hours at the school observing the student, peer group, and staff to help determine triggers for behaviors, areas of strength and difficulty, and learning/teaching style in order to formulate goals, recommendations, and behavior plans (as indicated).
A report will be completed following the school observation that includes relevant observational data as well as future recommendations and behavioral planning. Social and behavioral goals are often established following a school observation. Further, Dr. Bowers will meet with/interview school staff during the observation visit to fully understand their experiences with the student and gather additional information.
Call our office (734-997-9088) to discuss the school observation rate which includes travel, report (with future goals and recommendations), follow-up phone calls/consultation/IEP planning (as indicated), and observation (with accompanying functional analysis of behavior and school staff interviews).
If something is interfering with a student’s success in school, an observation by a developmental specialist is one of the quickest and most effective ways to support the child while also informing future decision making such as school placements, special education placement, and behavioral/social planning.
